Welcome to ONSI, Oncology Nurses of Southern Idaho!

Dear ONSI member:                                                                

            I would like to ‘welcome’ you to another year of Oncology Nurse’s of Southern Idaho activities and programs.  Do you know just how many members (official and unofficial combined) we have?   At the end of 2006, there were 52 paid local members.  Of those, 32 are national ONS members.  We encourage all local members to be national ONS members as well.

            In past years we have offered a wealth of community educational programs and will continue to do that throughout the year.  You are encouraged to check the ONSI website (www.ONofSIdaho.com) often to see what programs are on the horizon.  If you have supplied us with an e-mail address, updates will be sent out periodically.  If you are not receiving these updates, please inform any one of your board members and they can see that your information is included.  So, who are this year’s board members?

            President:  Linda Penwarden

            President-elect:  vacant (feel free to step forward!)

            Secretary:  Christine Anderson

            Treasurer:  Penny Douglas

            Education:  Andrea Dunn

            Membership:  Lynnette Townsend

            Community:  Tara Stockwell

            In past years we have been very involved in the community, particularly by bringing donations to educational programs for the food bank, shelters, schools.   Last year we adopted a stretch of highway, which needs to be cleaned at least twice a year.  Please make note of this date for our next cleanup.  We need all the help we can as the job is done much quicker with more people.  March 24, 2007.   Watch for further communication about this date, or contact Tara Stockwell for information (322-6997).

            This organization can only function with the help and support from the membership.  We need everyone to commit to some level of involvement.  All board meetings are open to the membership.  Board meeting information is posted on the website, but the dates scheduled at this point are:

            I am very excited about the upcoming year and involvement with ONSI.   We are a great chapter, representing an incredible organization.  Let’s keep getting better!
